9:00 - 9:30 - Phonics - 'c' says /s/
Look through the PPT and watch my flashcards video. Now read Tricky Witches' story. You should now know lots of the words that use the 'c' /s/ sound. Sort you page into 3 columns and sort the words into ci, ce or cy words (similar to what you did yesterday).
Can you use any of these words in sentences?
9:30 - 10:00 - Morning Registration and Input
10:00 - 10:30 - English - Writing
Learning Objective: To be able to use verbs.
This is the last part of out story. This is where Plop thinks about what he has learnt about the dark and how he now feels.
Given sentence: Plop thought about what he had been told about the dark.
Sentence 1 - Gather some ideas about what he has been told - the dark is exciting, sparkling fireworks, beautiful, fun, cosy campfire, amazing etc...
We are now going to write some dialogue for Plop talking to his mum.
Here is my dialogue: "The first boy said it was exciting. The second boy said it was fun. The cat said it was beautiful," Plop explained.
Sentence 2 - This is more dialogue but this time it is Mum asking Plop was he now thinks and Plop answering her.
What questions could Mum ask? - What do you think now Plop? Do you like the dark now Plop? Are you still scared of the dark?...
What will Plop reply? What does he now think?
Here is my dialogue: "And what do you think, Plop?" asked his mum.
Plop looked up with twinkling eyes.
"I think it is super."
Sentence 3 - This is an action sentence which is why we need some verbs. What is Plop now going to go an do? Gather some verbs - going hunting, exploring the night, spreading his wings, flying off into the night...
Here is my sentence: For the first time, Plop flew off happily into the moonlight to go hunting with his parents.
10:45 - 11:15 - English - Reading
Learning Objective: To be able to make predictions based on what has been read already.
Listen to the rest of the story. Now there are just two questions to answer.
1. What is Dad's secret?
2. Predict what you think they can see when they are flying high up in the sky. Draw and label a picture.
11:15 - 12:15 - Maths - Make equal groups - grouping
Learning Objective: To be able to make equal groups by grouping.
Look at the video.
Today you are making equal groups but rather than sharing things out one at a time, you are going to be making groups.
There are some different activities below for you to have a go at.
Starter: Do the daily ten challenge. Rather than addition or subtraction, could you try level 2, multiplication or division today?
The children in school have a 30 minute session with the PE boys before lunch so here is a challenge for you at home.
KS1 PE Challenge Week 3

1:20 - 2:15 - Science

Look through the PPT and think about how humans act differently during the different seasons.
There are some vegetable cards and clues cards. Can you match the correct vegetable to the correct clue?
Then draw yourself in 2 different seasons. Label the picture with what season it is, what you are wearing and what you are doing.
