Reflection and Prayers

Reflection

At St. Richard's, reflection time is a really important part of our school day. All year groups lead and participate in reflection on a regular basis, allowing them to take a moment with God. Each week the children focus on a theme, thinking about how they can embed this in their daily lives and use it to live out our School Mission.

"I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer." Psalm 17:6

Christmas Carols and Story - December 2024

On the 17th December, Key Stage Two held their annual Christmas Carol service and told the story of the Nativity. The service was enjoyed by the whole school and it gave us all an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." Luke 2:14-18

St. Nicholas' Day Mass - December 2024

On Friday 6th December we celebrated St. Nicholas day with a whole school mass for pupils, staff, governors and families. Mass was led by Fr Leo and the Year 4 pupils who wrote the prayers and read the readings. It was a wonderful way to celebrate St. Nicholas and to think about how he can inspire us all in our Mission, in school and in the wider community.

"The giver of every good and perfect gift has called upon us to mimic God’s giving, by grace, through faith, and this is not of ourselves." St.Nicholas
