Connaught Class
Islam Day 2024
This year, Connaught Class learned about the festival Eid-Al-Adha, which means 'The festival of Sacrifce". We listened to the Holy story about Ibrahim (PBUH) and his devotion to their God, Allah. We learned all about Eid-Al-Adha and how the festival of sacrifice is celebrated. Muslim families gather together for special meals, they wear their best clothes, say prayers and gift presents. For their special meal a goat or lamb is sacrificed and shared amongst the community. We learned that Muslims also give thanks and thank their God Allah for the blessings.
The class made their own Eid celebration cards and inside wrote the blessings that they are all thankful for. We also filled out our own 'Gratitude' sheep and filled it with things we are grateful for in our lives.
