Worship in the Synagogue – Year 5

Year 5 focused our study on the Jewish place of worship, the synagogue. We looked at how the synagogue is not only the Jewish place of worship, but is also used as a place to study, and often as a community centre as well. We learned about the main features of a synagogue, the different services that are celebrated and the difference between orthodox and reform synagogues.

We were able to handle some Jewish items that we have learned about in previous years to consolidate our knowledge of the faith.

We created beautiful double-page spreads in our books to show all of our knowledge.
