The school council met and held a competition to redesign the Library. Many ideas were shared around the school and a collection was put together. From that staff and councillors met again to choose the theme and ideas for the new library.
The library was redecorated, reorganised and older books were removed with fresh new titles. The room's theme of a Book jungle. Here are the results.
British Values
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
- democracy
- rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect
- tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
School Council 2021- 2022
Term 2 2021 - 2022
This week was very exciting as every class attended a School Council assembly. COVID has been disruptive but St Richard's have started that democratic process, the children were very excited and already they have started thinking about the changes they feel are important. The elections will be finished by Friday 26th November. We will update everyone with the results.
Here is part of a poster created by one of the children as part of their School Council campaign. This part of the poster really highlights some important values the children felt made a good representative on the school council especially the values of being helpful, sensible and responsible.
