Term 5

English

Our class text in English this term is 'Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob', by Simon Bartram. We will be using this book to learn about diary-writing, and will be writing a diary entry, pretending that we are Bob!

Maths

In Maths, we are learning about multiplication and division this term. We are doing this by sharing and making equal groups. We are learning about arrays and using arrays to add equal groups. We are also practising our doubles. Later in this very short term, we will also be learning about halves and quarters.

Sharing equally and making equal groups

RE

In RE, we are learning about holidays and holy days, including Ascension Day and Pentecost. We will then be moving on to learning about reconciliation and getting on with others.

History

Our Project this term is a history project, and we are learning about how transport has changed. We were lucky enough to have a trip to the Transport Museum and had such a fun day exploring the vehicles from the past. We have been learning how to tell if a vehicle is from the past or the present. We have also been describing vehicles from the past.

PE

As usual, PE is on Thursdays and Fridays. We do occasionally need our PE kits on other days, for example, if we have a PE-related visitor, or if we have a yoga day. Please ensure PE kits are in school at all times. If your child has earrings, please take them out for the days when they have PE, for safety reasons.

This term, we will be developing our striking and fielding skills for playing rapid fire cricket with Miss Seager, and scatterball with Marc.
