Good Morning
I hope you all had a lovely afternoon yesterday and managed to do something that makes you happy.
See you at 9:30.
Mrs Bennett
9:00 - 9:30 - Phonics - al (or)
Look through the PowerPoint. Today we are learning the al (or) grapheme. Look at how easy it is to add suffixes ed and ing.
Watch the video ‘I am the Tallest’, sung by a band made up of identical triplets called The All Paints. Make the Tricky Witch (wave a pretend magic wand) action every time you hear an al word.
Can you remember all of the al words in the song?
Complete the song sheet template to write a new al song.
9:30 - 10:00 - Morning Registration and Input
(See zoom link in email)
10:00 - 10:30 - English Writing
Listen to the complete story of The Rainbow Crow.
We have finished writing the key parts of the story now so today I'd like you to write your own Rainbow Crow story. It can be based on the story we have written or you can make up your own story about Rainbow Crow.
Remember all the key points we have worked on - adjectives, alliteration, onomatopoeia, verbs, inverted commas....
I can't wait to read what you come up with.
10:45 - 11:15 - English Reading
Learning Objective: To be able to sequence a text.
I've tried three times to record the story but I've run out of storage space so you can listen to the 2 videos I've done (or read the powerpoints) or CBeebies Bedtime Stories has it being read.
Once you've listened to the story or read it, use the 9 pictures to sequence the story. If you haven't got the worksheet, you can draw your own.
See if you can write a sentence to go with each picture.
11:15 - 12:15 - Maths - draw pictograms (2, 5, 10)
Learning Objectives: To be able to draw pictograms.
Watch the videos and then have a go at some of the activities.
1:20 - 2:15 - Children's Mental Health Week
Watch the virtual assembly.
The theme this year for mental health week is Express Yourself. I'd like you to use the template, or draw you own, to design a hat that shows what sort of person you. You could use your favourite colours. You could draw pictures on it of the things you like. You can make it whatever you want so long as it expresses you.
Take a picture of your design and then bring it to our afternoon zoom so we can share our hats together.
