# Monday

Good morning lovely Year 6s. I hope you all had lovely weekends, even though it was really chilly! Welcome to week 4 of home learning - please do email me and get in touch if you need anything, or I can help in any way.

Mrs Huotari will be doing our Monday faith assembly by Zoom at 11:45 for KS2. We'd love to see you whilst we join in from the classroom.

English

Wow - I hope you all enjoyed looking at the story in more detail on Friday - and seeing through 'the viewer'.... weren't the pictures fascinating - if a little dark and eerie.

In today's lesson, we will be generating vocabulary to use when writing a diary entry. We will be focusing on how to generate adjectives for key nouns, and then moving this on to adding verbs and adverbs to describe what a character might be doing at a certain point of the story.

Watch the video - and follow the instructions Mr Brown gives you. Pause the video to do the activities and then complete the independent work at the end of the lesson.

Maths

Write today's short date (25/01) in your home learning book and have a go at these arithmetic questions:

Hoorah - we finished fractions last week..... so we're moving on to DECIMALS!

Watch the White Rose video - you can pause it as you are watching to have a go at joining in with the activities. When you get to the end, have a go at the work in your home learning book. You will need to have the worksheet open on a device in front of you and then do your working out and answering in the book. Once you have completed the task, you can use the answer sheet to mark your work before an adult emails me a picture of it. Good luck - and remember to email me if you have any questions.

## Spr.6.1.1 - Decimals up to 2 d.p

Log on to LBQ and have a go at the comprehension exercise. The code today is:

Afternoon lessons - Art

Today we are continuing learning about using simplified shapes and lines to create more abstract drawings. Have a look at this video online on creating optical illusion art using straight lines and a sphere. All you will need to have a go is a piece of paper, a ruler and a pencil.

## Art Lesson Online: Make Op-Art Spirals that'll twist your eyes. Great for at home or school #withme

Have a go at seeing what you can create. Think carefully about how you use your pencil for shading at the end - this is the part that can really bring your 3 dimensions to life. Good luck Year 6! I can't wait to see what you all create.

Monday Reflection

A Monday reflection for you Year 6. This one is a heartwarming family film sharing themes of love, acceptance, and having a positive self-image.
