Pronouns

Pronouns can be tricky. They are used to take the place of a noun.

It would be boring if an author wrote

 

Milo is a dog. Milo is a white and fluffy puppy. Every day, Milo goes for a long walk to the park. Milo likes walks and treats. Milo enjoys snoozing on the sofa.

 

Milo is a proper noun because it is a specific name.

Pronouns, such as He, could be used instead of the proper noun.

We should always start exercise or sport with a warm up.

There should be tasks to raise your heart rate, tasks to build you muscle strength and tasks to help stretch.

Design a warm up with 4 activities for the pulse raisers, strengthening and stretching sections. Write what you would do in your books and draw an image to go with each activity showing what to do. Once you have designed it, you should practise the warm up yourself to check it works.

If you would like some ideas, watch this video of Joe Wicks completing a 5 minute work out. You could adapt some of his ideas. Remember to make the warm up fun.
