Good Morning everyone
We've made it Friday and completed our first full week of 'Lockdown'. I've been so impressed with how hard everyone has been working and all the work I've been sent. Keep it up.
I hope all the work below makes sense and I'll go through it with you at our morning registration but do just let me know if you need anything.

10:00 - 10:30 - English - Writing
Learning Objective: To be able to use verbs, adverbs and prepositions.
Today we are writing the next part of our story where Plop meets a cat who offers to talk Plop to meet the nighttime animals.
Sentence 1 - We are going to use adverbs to describe how Plop comes down from his tree to the ground.
Look at the video of the feather falling and describe how it falls. What adverbs could you use? gently, slowly, softly, gracefully, serenely, delicately...
Now think of some verbs to describe the movement - floated, drifted, fluttered, glided, wafted, hovered....
Here is my sentence - Gently, Plop floated down to the ground and landed like a soft white feather.
Sentence 2 - This is going to be a sentence with a simile. A simile describes something like it is the same as something else.
Look at the picture of the cat and gather some words to describe it's eyes. What are they like - stars, treasure, fireworks, gold, moonbeams...
Now think of some prepositions to describe where Plop is - under, beneath, below, underneath...
Here is my sentence: Under the enormous tree, he saw a big, black cat. Its eyes were bright like sparkling diamonds.
Sentence 3 - Now we are going to write some dialogue between Plop and the cat. Plop is going to ask th cat the same sort of question.
Now gather some different nocturnal animals those that come out at night) - bat, cat, mole, hedgehog, badger...
Here is my dialogue: "What do you think of the dark?" asked Plop.
"Dark is beautiful, " replied the cat. "Come with me and I will show you the night time world of owls, cats and bats."
Good luck and I can't wait to see your writing.
