Year 3
Rocks
This term Year 3 have been learning about 'Rocks'.
The children's learning included making careful observations and classifying the rocks into groups based on their appearance and physical properties. We made chocolate rocks to help us understand the 'Rock Cycle' and increase our science vocabulary - pressure, heat, sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks and igneous rocks. We made fossils to help us understand how fossils are formed.
We set up and completed a comparative test, using science equipment carefully and accurately, to compare the permeability of different soils.
