Term 6

Our topic (continued from last term): Trials, triumphs & tragedies

This term, our topic continues to be History based. We will be learning all about the Ancient Greeks and trying to answer the question:

What did the Ancient Greeks do for us?

In our English lessons, we shall be continuing reading the story of Odysseus on his journey home after the Trojan War, and learning what perils he faces.

We shall be exploring balanced argument writing about moral dilemmas Odysseus faces to do with choosing between the lives of his crew and his own, and also learning about how to successfully write concise and clear instructions.

In Maths this term, we shall be continuing to explore using our investigative skills to solve more complex, open-ended problems. We shall investigate algebraic problems, logic puzzles and other problems where working systematically to find all possibilities is required.

Our RE learning this term is focussed on the Universal Church and the role of Christians around the world. We will look at the work of organisations such as CAFOD and consider what Catholic Social Teaching tells us our responsibilities are as Christians in a global community.
