Term 5 - Why do people like the seaside?

Our learning this term is all about our local area - specifically our costal towns! We shall be comparing what beaches were like in the past, and what they are like now! We shall be visiting Dover beach to look for Human and Physical features, as well as a trip to Folkestone Museum to explore what a Victorian seaside might have looked like!

In RE, our topics this term are:

• Pentecost - Spreading the Word of Good News (Jesus has Risen)
• Reconciliation - Rules and Relationships with friends

In Maths, our learning this term focuses Fractions and Time. Children will be exploring what 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 2/3, 3/4 and wholes (1/1, 2/2). Children will also be looking at equivalent fractions, and fractions of a number!

In Science, we are learning about Animals and their habitats. They will be exploring and comparing the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive. They will also be looking at food chains!

In DT/Art, we shall be designing our very own tie-dye t-shirts! We shall also create a seaside collage, using various materials. 

In English, we will be writing a narrative based on our story this term 'The Secret of Black Rock'. They will be using the story to help them write their own versions! We aim to make our stories into a book!
