Wednesday 24th

Happy Wellbeing Wednesday!

Despite our Staff Inset Day on Monday, we have decided to carry on with Wellbeing Wednesday Afternoon this week, so there is only 1 Zoom session today at 9 am. Please use the afternoon to have some family time and get outdoors and away from screens!

Thanks to everyone who sent their work to Miss Hunt via EExAT yesterday. Please limit to 2 or 3 posts per day showing significant learning. Remember photo collage apps are very useful for combining photos into one image! Miss Hunt recommends https://www.befunky.com/create/collage/ for use on computers and laptops.

Our zoom link has been emailed to you on Sunday evening and is the same link we have used in Term 3.

See you at 9am! laugh

Phonics:

Recapping letter sounds: Please recap your letter sounds and actions every day.

You can use the videos below to help you.

Monster Phonics Pure Speech Sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRoFpvC0yn0

Phase 3 Tricky Word Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R087lYrRpgY&list=PLCLKSf1kRDSRP6OCf-lm0wAr2s7Y1LfkO&index=3

This week's sound: ‘oa’ song video:

Daily Zoom session: This week's sound is 'oa'. This is a Miss Oh No sound! We will first look at some objects with the 'oa' sound in and write the oa sound. Then we will read the Monster Phonics version of 'Cinderella' and try to spot some oa words. Finally, we will write the word 'coat' together on our whiteboards and recap all tricky words learned so far.

Follow-up activity: Listen to and sing with this ‘oa’ song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8vsCBWBb8k

Play Spooky Sounds on ICT Games- choose ch, ai, oa, ee and ur.

Writing:

Making oa flashcards: moan, soap, toad, road, goat, goat, boat, coat, coach, float, groan, toast.

Sound these out using your phonics knowledge and your sound mat. You can decorate your flashcards however you want. Remember, Miss Oh No is Pink, so write your 'oa' sound in pink pen or pencil!

Please upload an image of your child's writing to EExAT (the tracker) for Miss Hunt to see!

How much support did they need to hear each sound? Did they use the sound mat to help? Could they use it independently?

Fine Motor Skills:

Challenge: Pattern Tracing.

Draw some lines on paper and arrange some small objects or stickers to trace the pattern.this will help your child understand the flow of lines and the movement required to fulfill such shapes.
