Kearsney Class

During our Judaism day, we began to look at Passover, or Pesach. We learnt that this time in the Jewish calendar celebrates the freedom of the Jews from slavery in ancient Egypt. We learnt that it was celebrated through a meal using a cedar plate. We had a look at what one might look like.

We discussed the life of early Jews thousands of years ago, who were called Israelites they had moved to Egypt, where they became slaves of the Egyptians. We then looked at the story of Moses through stories and film clips. Where we then created out own wheels of plagues. Which were punishments sent by God as punishments to force the king to change his mind and let the Israelites go.

We also created our own paintings of the plagues, inspired by some of the creative art pieces the children sourced on internet.
