Wednesday

Good morning everyone. How are you all enjoying the mini heatwave we seem to be having? It certainly is sunny this week - I hope you're all getting outside after home learning or school and making the most of it!

Today's code for SPAG and reading on LBQ is:

English

Today we will be writing our short paragraph about our memories of St Richard's - ready to record and use in our Leaver's Assembly.

Have a look at the PowerPoint, and then have a go at writing. Once you have written your paragraph, you'll need to record yourself reading it out loud. If you are at home, the easiest way is to use a mobile phone or a tablet - they usually have a voice recorder.

Once you have your recording - and you are happy with it - if you are at home, you need to email it to me so that I can stitch them all together for the video. My email address is edrage@st-richards.kent.sch.uk

Good luck Year 6 - I look forward to hearing all your memories.

Maths

Watch today's video from White Rose and have a go at the questions which go with it on the sheet. Remember to check your answers once you're done.

History -Windrush Day 2020

On Monday, you learned a bit about the Geography of the Caribbean - and found out about different countries including which ones were overseas territories at different points in their history.

Today we will be thinking about the question:

Were there people of African descent in Britain before the 1940s?

Work your way through the PowerPoint presentation, looking carefully at the photographs and thinking about the questions on the slide at the start.

Once you've looked at the primary sources, choose one of the people listed to find out a bit more about. Noah and I have been learning all about Mary Seacole recently - she had a fascinating life, and overcame many challenges to make a phenomenal contribution to society.
