Thrive

Throughout life we all encounter setbacks, challenges and bumps in the road! Here at St Richard's, we are committed to the Thrive Approach.

The Thrive approach is the early identification of emotional developmental need in children. We believe that when you address emotional developmental needs it builds a child’s resilience and supports children engage in learning.  The Thrive approach sets out key tasks for children to reengage through targeted strategies. Our individual Thrive room and newly transformed Rainbow Room has been developed to support children's emotional well-being through specialised activities which support healthy neural development and develop a sense of self. Ultimately, Thrive builds upon emotional and social development, improving the capacity for learning.

Mrs Waller is a trained Thrive Practitioner. We aim for Thrive to become a whole-school approach, benefitting all children including those with social and emotional difficulties.
