At St Richard's, we recognise the vital importance of Music in many different capacities. We want our pupils to leave primary school equipped with a range of skills to enable their success at secondary school, but more importantly to be able to enjoy and appreciate music throughout their life. 

Composer of the Week

To support the children's skills in listening to and thinking about a diverse range of musical traditions, styles, time periods and genres, we have a composer of the week. In our Monday assembly, the composer or musician is introduced - along with some facts about them. the children then listen to pieces written by the same composer over the course of the week and respond to them in different ways.
