During Year 2 the principle focus of teaching science is for the children to experience and observe the amazing natural and human-constructed world around them. For the children to look more closely at the world, to become curious and ask questions. Topics include Uses of everyday materials, Animals including humans, All living things and their habitats and Plants.

We used our observational skills to order photographs of Mrs Martin's mum as she grew from a baby to an adult. We also looked at clothes of Mrs Martin's son and put them in the order as he grew bigger and bigger into a teenager.
