Key Information for Term 1

Physical Education

Swimming is on Thursday afternoon

PE with DSC is on Friday morning.

Please make sure PE kits are in school every Friday. Earrings should be removed for swimming and PE lessons. 

Music

Year 5 are lucky to have a specialist teacher come in every Wednesday morning to teach them to play the ukulele.

Homework

Homework will be set at the start of the term. There are 12 different tasks to choose from. Ideally, I'd like 2 a week for the 6 weeks but at least 1 must be completed each week. There is also daily homework for reading, spellings and times tables. Homework is due in on Wednesday and books will be returned on Friday after they have been marked. 

Reading

Please hear your child read every night and then sign their home contact book. If they have read by themselves, please still sign the home contact book for them so they can be awarded their book worm. 

Spellings 

New spellings will be sent home every Friday. These should be practised every day. There will be a spelling test each Thursday and then new spellings issued the next day.
