Term 2

This term we are learning about 'Rainforests'. This will involve understanding the location of the rain forests around the world, why they are located there and what kind of animals/people live there. We will also discover the layers of the rain forest. We will use all this learning to inspire our creation of rain forest animlas from recycled materials. We will be reading the book 'The Great Kapok Tree' and we will use this story for our class assembly. In PE, we are looking at fitness and balancing, through gymnastics and HIIT workouts.

Throughout science, the we will be exploring, talking about, testing and developing ideas about Forces and Magnets. We will be carrying out tests to find out how far things move on different surfaces and gathering and recording data to find answers their questions; exploring the strengths of different magnets and finding a fair way to compare them; sorting materials into those that are magnetic and those that are not; looking for patterns in the way that magnets behave in relation to each other; identifying how these properties make magnets useful in everyday items and suggesting creative uses for different magnets.
