When a pupil is identified as having a SEN they will be entered onto our SEN Register which ensures their progress is monitored carefully and provision is carefully monitored. I also support Class Teachers and Support Staff to ensure that strategies are in place to enable these pupils to make progress and are supported within the classroom.
Sometimes it may also be necessary to involve external professionals if despite the consistent and thorough support offered by the school, children with SEND continue to make little or no progress over a sustained period of time. We are regularly supported by Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Specialist Teachers.
A large part of my role involves liaising with outside agencies and professionals to plan how we can best support pupils in school. Support is then personalised to ensure it meets the needs of the child. At every step of this process, I work with and support parents and carers to ensure that you are a key part of your child's support. It is very much a joint effort, we will be working together to ensure your child makes good progress and reaches their fullest potential!
