Good Morning

We're half way through the week. Keep going! You're all doing amazingly.

See you soon

Mrs Bennett

9:00 - 9:30 - Phonics - 'kn'

Read through the PPT looking at the sound and different words. There are a few different videos to watch today. Ghost Dog, Shakespeare video and flash cards. Shakespeare sounds out the silent letter - does it sound right?

Once you've watched all of these, there is a sheet to fill in the missing 'kn' words.

9:30 - 10:00 - Morning Registration and Input

10:00 - 10:30 - English - Writing

Learning Objective: To be able to write a narrative.

We would normally now spend time planning our own stories based on the text we have just done but I think this would be quite hard with lots of you at home so I thought today I would read you the whole story of 'The Owl that was Afraid of the Dark' and then you could write me your whole story of Plop.

10:45 - 11:00 - Reading

Choose a book from home or from the elibrary and read quietly for 15 minutes. If you can record yourself reading a bit and send it to me, I'd love to hear please.

11:00 - 12:15 - Science with Mrs Martin (Zoom link below)

(I've put the word document with the information underneath too)

Pease complete science work in your home learning book and remember to take a photo and send it to Mrs Bennett. Mrs Bennett will pass it on to me. Any questions, please just get in touch.

This term our science topic is Living things and their habitats.

Scientists put living and non-living things into groups to help them with their studies. Scientists classify (group) things to compare how they are similar and different.

Classifying is a super science skill!

Today we are learning:

To be able to explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive.

KEY WORDS: Life process, living, non-living, dead, never alive, movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, nutrition

·         What do we do that lets us know we are alive?

All living things do certain things to stay alive. These are called life processes.

Read Living, Dead, Never Alive PowerPoint –

ACTIVITY

Draw three items - one living, one dead and one that has never been alive.
