Maths

Today we are going to be multiplying mixed numbers by integers.

Remember, a mixed number is an amount made of a whole number and a fraction. An integer is a whole number.

I would recommend multiplying the whole number first, then focusing on the fraction. Remember to then convert that answer into a mixed number and add it on.

Please let me know if you would like any help with this or are finding it a little tricky.

Today, I would like you to plan the events of your story using the grid and structure provided on page 23. Remember, this can be done on paper as well. Use your fantastic ideas from yesterday and arrange them into the grid to create a plan to write from.

Afternoon Lesson

Here are some key facts about refugees:

Help them feel at Home

Help them feel at Home, tells the story of a young refugee named Sana and a toy dinosaur named Dino and their difficult journey to find safety in the UK. Visit kazzum.org/refugee-week-2020 for a selection of free creative resources for children and young people, including poetry, creative writing and arts activities to complement 'Help them feel at Home'.

How did the video above make you feel? I felt very sad for Dino, but I was happy he settled into his new home.

Many children will arrive in the UK and join a new school. It can be very difficult because they may not speak English or understand what school is like. In our story Tony the Dinosaur was friendly to Dino and Sana. Imagine a new person is coming to your school from far away.

Here are two quick little activities to make you think:
