I hope you all had a good go at performing your poems yesterday. Were you able to use your voice and facial expression to convey emotion? Did it help the story come to life?
Today I would like you to have a go at some comprehension. Please complete Activity 6 on page 9.
Today we are looking at equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. This is tricky stuff... please just try your best and don't feel upset if you find it tricky. Even I think this is tricky! Give it your best go, that is all I ask.
Today, I would like you to do a little bit of research about VE Day in preparation for next week's secret challenge. VE Day is an important day in our nation's history. On 8th May 1945, Britain celebrated the end of WW2.
How many years has it been since VE Day this year?
Some questions to consider:
How do you think people felt when the war was finally over?
How would you celebrate VE Day?
Why do we still remember it now?
Do you think peace is important?
I would like you to think about the power of peace. Click here to read some bible verses about peace.
Today, I would like you to create a beautiful poster promoting peace. You could write a prayer on your poster and take some inspiration from the bible verses you have read. You could draw symbols of peace, below are the words 'peace', 'hope' and 'faith' in many different languages.
Keep your poster safe. You can use it next week for our top secret project. Good luck, have a lovely weekend. :)
