School meals are provided by Chartwell's, being cooked at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School in Folkestone and then transported to be served on the premises. Please see the menu below. There is a special menu running from Tuesday 29th October to Friday 2nd November to showcase the new menu starting from Monday 5th November.
The cost of a school meal is £2.30 per day - £11.50 per week. We will now be accepting payments online using a secure website called ParentPay and you will be able to pay online using your credit or debit card. ParentPay will be our preferred method of making payments to the school and we will no longer be accepting cash or cheques from the 5th June 2018. Children in KS1 are entitled to funded school meals but you still need to book the meals using the new ParentPay system. This also applies to children eligible for Free School Meals.
All meals are taken in the school hall, served by Catering Assistants. There are also Midday Supervisors on duty. The midday meal is considered to be part of the children’s social training.
Children may bring their own lunch. We encourage parents to ensure that packed lunches are healthy and wholesome. Glass containers or canned drinks are not permitted for safety reasons. Any wrappers or remains must be taken home at the end of the school day.
The children are encouraged to bring a water bottle into class daily so fresh water is always available. We know that water stimulates concentration throughout the day!
The school is currently operating a Breakfast Club. The children attending pay for the breakfast in advance or on the day but separate from payments for school lunchtime meals. The food provided meets the standard and quality required under the DCFS guidance for nutritional standards and is charged at £1.70 per day. This also needs to be booked in advance and paid for using the new ParentPay system.
The school will provide an item of fresh fruit daily to all children in Reception, Year 1 and 2. Children in Years 3,4,5,6 are provided with a small snack each day during nurture time paid for out of Pupil Premium Funding. During this time children will learn about current affairs or talk about issues of concern to them.
