Do you have any budding artists in your class?
Radio Times is running a nationwide competition for children to design the front cover of the magazine, to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on 19 May...
We're calling all young artists to design a cover for the forthcoming royal wedding. You can use any colour, material or technique you like; you can draw, paint or create your entry on a computer! Your design should be eye-catching, imaginative and show what the wedding means to you.
Entrants must be 12 years old or younger to enter the competition. The overall winning entry will appear on the cover of RT's special royal wedding issue – and will be seen by millions of people! In addition, 100 of the best entries will also be published in the same issue of the magazine, on sale 15 May 2018.
You can download and print out a template from radiotimes.com/weddingcover
, which has the Radio Times lettering at the top and is in the correct portrait format. If you prefer, you can use an A4 piece of paper to create your design - leave room for the Radio Times lettering!
For help incorporating this activity into the National Curriculum go to radiotimes.com/weddingcover
where you will find specially commissioned teaching resource notes. You will also find a downloadable certificate, which can be printed off to reward your class!
We will publish a list of the schools who entered the competition on our website, alongside our coverage of the competition, in May!
If you'd like to share pictures of the creative process of your cover design lesson via social media, please use the hashtag #RadioTimesRoyalWedding – we'll share our favourites!
